"FAYDE ATTACKS!"
BFA COLLECTION
SAVANNAH COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN
“Fayde Attacks!” is a collection inspired by the way humans have conceptualized extraterrestrials and “freaks” throughout history, cast out yet endlessly fascinating. That duality has always resonated with me, because the alien never just felt like science fiction; it was a metaphor for my own sense of not belonging. Growing up, I felt like I spoke a different language. Never fitting in, yet always gawked at for my eccentricities. That alienation became fuel, and extraterrestrial imagery grew into a hallmark of my aesthetic.
For me, fashion has always been both performance and disguise, a balance embodied by my drag persona, Fayde. As a drag queen designing for other drag queens, my work aims to amplify spectacle and cultivate an otherworldly presence on stage. The name “Fayde Attacks” nods both to Fayde herself and to the campy sci-fi spectacle Mars Attacks!. The collection is part playful invasion, part act of revenge, and entirely a declaration of presence:
Look at me now.
This is not just an alien invasion. This is a homecoming.
